Research of the potential use of hydrogen technologies

The aim of the project is to research the potential of the Moravian-Silesian region for greater use of hydrogen in energy, transport and industry, and identify the obstacles, barriers, needs and opportunities at regional and national level. Key stakeholders will be identified to address all aspects that prevent or support the introduction of hydrogen as a substitute for traditional energy sources.

The main researcher is the VSB – Technical University of Ostrava. Other partners are research organisation Centrum výzkumu Řež (CVŘ), Institute of Thermomechanics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Moravian-Silesian Energy Centre and the research institute Material and Metallurgical Research Ltd.

SOBIC participates in all phases of the research project, both in the analytical phase to identify ecosystem entities and possible risks, and in the exploratory phase to discover possibilities of the entities’ involvement in the creation of a hydrogen economy at both regional and national level. SOBIC is also involved in the publication of conceptual documents and all project outputs.
