MUSEum+

SOBIC participates in the innovative concept of the new institution MUSEum+. The concept was created by an international team whose members were professors Peter Weibel and Michael Bielický. Weibel and Bielický work on interdisciplinary concepts of art and modern technology at the important innovative institution “Zentrum für Kunst und Medien Karlsruhe”. The MUSEum+ project arose from the need to contribute to the crisis of a structurally damaged region through research, education and creativity, the tools supporting the development of the knowledge economy. Equally important is the effort to revitalize the heart of the national cultural monument in the Vítkovice Lower Area, blast furnaces 4 and 6, which form one of the visual symbols of Ostrava. Their conversion should not only help to preserve the symbol of the region, but also, thanks to the establishment and development of MUSEum+, bring a major impuls to the development and sustainability of the extremely successful revitalization project of the Vítkovice Lower Area.
